First Post

Information overload over the last couple of years have made equity markets a complex proposition.  We have a deluge of data that hits us on a daily basis and so many opinions being voiced on media – technical, fundamental – short-term long-term, day trading, BTST, SL, IIP, Inflation, GDP, Interest Rates…. And there are no easy answers!

But I believe that the changing demographics of the country mean that there is a new class of investor also slowly evolving.  One who uses internet increasingly, perhaps has an online trading account, who reads the papers, collects information about stocks and economy, reads reports sent by brokers and is making a sincere effort to understand markets and stocks.  All this with the goal of making an investment that will give over a period of time a return that will beat the real inflation and will provide some degree of security to savings.

This equity cult will take time to evolve.  For there is no attempt to manipulate, front-run or second guess but only to read, comprehend and then take a decision based on that.

After so many years in the market I for one do believe that that is possible.  Possible to have a common sense approach to investing in the markets. My attempt will be to talk of issues as they happen and see if we can make sense of them and of course every now and then make stock recommendations.  Not lengthy reports but simple one-pagers with lucid logic.  For what is the point and fun of being in the markets if we don’t talk stocks?

Happy Reading!
